Mark-Paul Gosselaar was born on 1 March 1974, in Panorama City, Los Angeles, to Paula, a homemaker and KLM hostess, and Hans Gosselaar, a plant supervisor for Anheuser-Busch. He is the youngest of four children and the only one not born in the Netherlands.
His Dutch father has German and Dutch Jewish ancestry, Gosselaar’s grandparents were murdered at Sobibor during the Holocaust. His Indonesian mother, born in Bali, worked as a flight attendant.
