Then, she worked with SNAP, the San Diego Symphony, the Timken Museum of Art, and the San Diego Public Library Foundation.

Lori Matsuoka married Bill Walton in 1991 after dating for a year. The couple met at a 1990 Grateful Dead party at Bill’s house.
As a band fan, Lori caught Bill’s attention as he frequently attended their events. Walton told The New York Times Magazine in 1991.
“We met at a party at my house 11 years ago. She went to UCLA, and she’s a Deadhead. What more do you need to know?”
Their relationship lasted 33 years, ending on 27 May 2024, when her husband died after a battle with cancer.
