Controversy

Joumana Kidd was allegedly conned out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by another woman. Still, this scam occurred during a particularly trying time in her life as the single mom underwent treatment for breast cancer.

Kidd had enlisted the help of “luxury lifestyle guru” Tracii Show-Hutsona in 2015 as a personal assistant and concierge, who was just arrested in February when her fraudulent lifestyle finally caught up to her.

Hutsona had a show on YouTube, Homeless Millionaires, which showcased the benefits of working alongside the rich and famous.

Only they were finding ways to make transfers into their accounts from distracted clients like Kidd, who was going through radiation at the time. Kidd did not perform a background check.

According to The New York Times, Kidd and her financial adviser noticed more than $300,000 missing from accounts and credit cards opened in her name, which she wasn’t unaware of.

When they confronted Hutsona, she denied it but then showed up crying at her client’s door and admitted guilt, saying she “felt pressured” by her husband, Derrell Hutsona, who has not been arrested. Hutsona had begged them to forgive her and said she would turn herself in.

Directly following Hutsona’s arrest, Kidd posted a serious, contemplative close-up of herself on Instagram with a note about welcoming challenges.

“Everything we go through in life is designed to build obedience and resilience,” she wrote. I’m grateful for my experiences, especially the challenging ones. I’m grateful for God’s timing, not mine.”Joumana Kidd Controversy
