Early Life
Iga Świątek was born on 31 May 2001 in Warsaw. Her parents is Dorota and Tomasz Świątek. Her father, a former rower, competed in the men’s quadruple sculls at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Her mother is an orthodontist. Iga has one sister, Agata, who is a dentist.
His father encouraged his daughters to pursue individual sports for better control of their success. At first, Agata was a swimmer, but she eventually switched to tennis. After being inspired by her sister, Iga began playing tennis.
Due to injuries, Agata retired early from the ITF Junior Circuit in 2013. Meanwhile, Iga continued to train in tennis, initially at Mera Warsaw and later at Legia Warsaw.
