Early Life 

He was born on August 19, 1999, in St. Charles, Illinois. He’s living it up in the Chicago Suburbs when he’s not filming in Los Angeles. Cutkosky attended Bell Graham Elementary School in Campton Hills, Illinois, and Thompson Middle School in St. Charles, Illinois. 

He attended St. Charles East High School in St. Charles, Illinois. The Unborn, where he took the part of a mythical Jewish spirit known as a Dybbuk named Ethan.

He was personally selected by the writer and director, David Goyer, because of his ability to follow directions and maintain an expressionless face during filming.

Ethan greatly appreciated the opportunity to play opposite Gary Oldman in this movie. In 2009, Ethan was selected for a character in the Showtime series Shameless as Carl, the son of Frank Gallagher, an absent alcoholic father.

Carl is being raised by his sister Fiona but needs to be put in the right place. He has no actual role model. He finds unique ways of fitting in a view for his older sibling’s attention.

Ethan is an avid skateboarder, loves photography, and is a 2nd-degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Career

When he was eight years old, Cutkosky landed his first film role as Carl with Vince Vaughn in the Christmas comedy Fred Claus (2007).

At the age of nine, he played a mythical spirit named Ethan in the supernatural horror film The Unborn (2009), where he had the opportunity to play opposite Gary Oldman.

In 2009, Cutkosky was selected to play Carl Gallagher, the second youngest Gallagher sibling and biggest troublemaker, in the Showtime television series Shameless.

Shameless ran for 11 seasons until 2021 and is currently the longest-running original scripted series in Showtime’s history.

Ethan is an avid skateboarder, loves photography, and is a 2nd-degree black belt in Taekwondo. He attends middle school in his hometown near Chicago and enjoys “hanging out” with his friends.

He is an animal lover and has a number of pets, despite the numerous characters he has played that are quite different from him in reality.

Cutkosky continues to expand his voice as an artist. In 2018, he created his own fashion brand, Khaotic Collective, and produced music. Cutkosky released a single, “Erase Me”,” on July 16, 2021.
